High-Level Status
- Illegal for recreational use nationwide.
- Medical use: No general consumer medical cannabis program.
- CBD and hemp-derived products: Treat as controlled unless explicitly permitted by competent authorities; travelers have been prosecuted for traces in luggage.
Governing Law
- Federal Decree-Law No. 30 of 2021 on Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances sets out offenses and penalties. Amendments and guidance may refine procedures (e.g., treatment centers for personal use cases), but possession/consumption remain crimes.
